Heated floor installation in Calgary
Cold tile and Calgary winters don't mix. We install electric heating mats under your tile so the floor is warm underfoot from the moment you step on it.
Where heated floors earn their keep
Every winter we hear the same line: should have done this years ago. These are the rooms people mean:
- The ensuite that's freezing at six in the morning in January
- A basement bathroom over concrete that never really warms up
- The kitchen, where you stand at the counter an hour a day
- Mudrooms and entries where winter meets your floor first
It only goes in once
The heating mat lives under the tile, embedded in the setting layer. That means there's exactly one affordable moment to add it: while the floor is being built. Adding it later means taking the finished floor apart.
So if you're redoing a bathroom or a kitchen floor and you're on the fence — this is the one decision worth making now. Everything else can be changed later. This can't.
Tested like it can't be fixed later — because it can't
A heating element that fails under finished tile means hunting for the break, lifting tile, and splicing — expensive when it's possible at all. So testing is part of the install, not an afterthought: we test the system before it goes down, again once it's embedded, and again after the tile is set. A fault shows up while it can still be fixed easily, not after grout.
The mat is embedded evenly so there are no hot or cold stripes, and over concrete we pair it with an uncoupling membrane so seasonal slab movement doesn't crack the tile above it. If you're comparing installers, ask when the mat gets tested — 'at the end' is the wrong answer.
